WHICH LUNCHBOX IS USED FOR KIDS 5 Day 5-minute Lunchbox Ideas?
I live in US, so I can only recommend products available here. I used a large lunchbots box here and I love it! Its dishwasher-safe and completely unbreakable, because my kids love throwing their backpack and lunch bag everywhere, we have broken a few plastic and glass boxes this way. So, please get a Lunchbots Large Trio Stainless Steel lunchbox and that will last for years.
For dips or curries, which leak, I recommend getting this Lunchbots Leakproof Dip containers that fit perfectly well in Lunchbots Large lunchbox.
Following are the Kids 5 Day Lunchbox super easy Ideas and with a little prep, all you need is 5-minute to fix these delicious lunchboxes.

Mini Naan Pizza Lunchbox, Ketchup and Mango
Naan pizza is the best and the quickest pizza ever! All you need is:
- Mini Naan (I use bite size naan here, but any naan will work. I love using Stonefire brand naan)
- Tomato Basil Sauce / any Pizza sauce
- Mozzarella Cheese
It is super easy to make as well. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the Naan on a parchment paper lined baking sheet, add a spoon of tomato basil sauce on each naan and grated mozzarella cheese. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the cheese melts and starts to brown.
Animal forks are for a fun twist, my kids love them!
Mock Egg Fried rice, Cantaloupe and Potato crisps
I say mock because we aren't using all the spices and flavors that usually go in the fried rice. It's made with leftover rice, so making it is super easy and takes 5 minutes. Try to make white rice the night before, so it's nice and cold for the morning prep. Here's what you need:
- 1 cup cooked white rice
- 1 tablespoon Avocado oil
- 1/4 cup onion
- 2 eggs
- Salt to taste
- 1 pinch turmeric powder
- Red chili powder to taste
- 1 pinch garam masala
In a wide pan or wok, add oil and saute the onions till they are light brown. Add eggs and scramble them till they are cooked. Add cooked rice, salt. turmeric, red chili powder and garam masala and toss everything till the spices are all mixed through.
Coincidentally, this turned out to be a yellow themed lunchbox including the giraffe fork in there!
Nutella Pancake Sandwich bites, Waffle cookies and Clementine
This is the cutest and easiest lunchbox ever! I use store bought pancake batter. Kodiak cakes is my favorite brand, it has clean ingredients and has good amount of protein to keep the kids full longer.
Mix your pancake batter according to the package instructions, make small pancake bites and spread Nutella between two pancake bites. This lunchbox takes just 5 minutes if you have the pancake batter ready, I usually mix the pancake batter the night before.
Green Chutney Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Potato Chips and Strawberries
This is a different take on your regular grilled Cheese. This recipe is from our Facebook group, Bento Moms club, by one of my very good friends. The sauce used in the sandwich is a delicious green chutney made using mint and cilantro.
Grind mint, cilantro, cashews, green chili, salt and lemon juice to a smooth paste to make a quick Green chutney. DO NOT add any water. Get more detailed recipe here. Or you can use a store bought one mentioned below.
Here's what you need to make this sandwich:
- 2 slices multigrain bread
- 2 teaspoon Mint Cilantro Chutney / Green chutney
- 2 slices of Dubliner Cheese / sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon Butter
Heat a griddle and while it gets hot, spread butter on one side of the bread and green chutney on the other side. Sandwich the cheese between the bread slices on the green chutney side. Transfer the sandwich to the hot griddle, with butter side down and grill the bread till its light brown, crispy and toasted. Flip it and toast on other side.
Cheese Quesadillas, Salsa and Tortilla chips
Cheese quesadillas are easy, quick and sooo delicious! Turn it up a notch by adding finely chopped veggies, grilled chicken or fajitas. Here's what you need:
- Street taco or any tortilla
- 1/4 cup of Mexican style cheese for each quesadilla
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
Brush the tortillas lightly with oil and heat them on both sides. Add cheese on half of the tortilla and fold into half. Grill the tortillas until the cheese is melted and the tortillas are lightly toasted on both sides.
These lunchbox ideas are just an inspiration, use these ideas and make it your own as per your kids’ palate. One important thing we always discuss in my group is how the kids won’t finish their lunchboxes. I will say it’s okay, trust me, I was (and still am!) a super worried mom when my kids won’t eat their lunch. But it’s totally okay! Saying that, my little one is starting kindergarten this year and I am a mess!
Another important thing to consider when packing lunch is to include your kids when planning. I found that they eat better when they have a say in what goes in their lunchbox. I am clearly not an expert; this is what works for my kids
Good luck for the next week!
